Nick had been out of town last week and when he got home earlier than expected on Friday, we loaded up and headed to the pumpkin patch. Bates is going on Wednesday with his preschool class on a field trip, but we had to make a trip as a family!
We absolutely had a blast. The weather was incredible and the place was virtually empty.
Disclaimer: obnoxious mom with hundreds of pictures. Sorry, but it's my blog!
I was shocked that Bates fed the animals. My timid, scared boy was so brave! I told Nick serveral times I couldn't believe how he was acting- so independent and brave! He really is growing up so very fast!
Brodie was a bit more timid of the goats. I don't blame him!
Bates was obessed with the chickens that were roaming around. I, of course, wasn't a fan. He would squeel in delight and then chase after them! These two pictures just make me laugh!
Bates was a fan of this llama until it tried to bite him. Then he was done with the feedings!
On to the petting area where Bates again shocked me by just walking in and walking right up to the sheep! He was having a blast!
My two kings of the hill!
My boys loved love loved the corn crib!
Bates charmed these bigger girls and tried to steal their wheelbarrow which resulted in a quick time out, some tears and then all was better again.
The giant slide!
That's my tiny Bates at the top....
Here he comes...
And here he is!
And then my teeny tiny Brodie. I actually thought daddy was going to come down with him...
And here comes my Brodie all by himself!
When he got to the bottom all the parents at the bottom cheered for him and I scooped him up telling him how great he did. No tears, but he wasn't feeling trying it again!
A quick break for some "pumpkin juice"
A ride on the tractor train
And then time to pick our pumpkins!
Brodie just wanted to pick up the pumpkins and drop them... so it was time to go.
It was the perfect day! Only would have been better if I had gotten a picture of all four of us together, oh well! I love days like this. Simple. Fun. Family. This is what makes my life. I am so blessed.

Mary Leigh, Thank you so much for the pictures! I absolutely adore those little boys! We need to skpe so they won't forget MawMaw and PawPaw!
